1. Conduct regular audits of inventory and cash handling procedures to identify potential areas of loss or theft.
2. Monitor surveillance footage and investigate any suspicious activities or incidents.
3. Collaborate with store management and team members to develop and implement loss prevention strategies.
4. Train and educate staff on loss prevention policies and procedures.
5. Maintain accurate records of all loss prevention incidents and investigations.
6. Conduct internal investigations as needed and report findings to appropriate parties.
7. Review and analyze data to identify trends and patterns of loss and develop proactive prevention strategies.
8. Conduct physical security checks of the store to ensure all safety protocols are being followed.
9. Enforce company policies and procedures related to safety and loss prevention.
10. Communicate with law enforcement and other external partners to assist in the resolution of incidents.
11. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in loss prevention strategies.
12. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
13. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to loss prevention.
14. Respond to emergencies and security incidents in a timely and effective manner.
15. Conduct regular training and drills to ensure preparedness for potential security threats.
16. Continuously evaluate and improve loss prevention processes and procedures.
17. Provide excellent customer service by assisting with any security-related inquiries or concerns.
18. Adhere to all safety and security protocols and policies set by Costco Wholesale.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Loss Prevention Clerk Job At Costco Wholesale Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures Basic Knowledge And Understanding Of Various Security Protocols.
• Relevant Experience: Previous Experience In A Loss Prevention Or Security-Related Role Is Highly Preferred For This Position. This Includes Experience With Cctv Monitoring, Inventory Control, And Theft Prevention.
• Strong Communication Skills: A Loss Prevention Clerk Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Customers, Employees, And Law Enforcement Personnel. This Includes The Ability To Write Detailed Reports And Give Clear Instructions.
• Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Attention To Detail Is Crucial In Identifying Potential Security Threats And Preventing Loss. A Loss Prevention Clerk Must Be Observant And Able To Spot Suspicious Behaviors Or Activities.
• Physical Fitness: This Job May Require Standing, Walking, And Lifting For Extended Periods Of Time. Therefore, Physical Fitness And The Ability To Handle Physical Tasks Are Important Qualifications For This Role.
