Responsible for providing administrative and telephonic support for department working on a data collection project in a fast-paced environment in order to meet deadlines within the project. Candidate will work under the direction of the Lead to assist and fulfill requests by contacting and corresponding with provider practices. A high degree of professionalism and team effort is expected to be maintained throughout the project.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Working at a fast pace this candidate must communicate directly with provider offices in pursuit process by requesting medical record information and coordinating the exchange of files.
- Must be able to maintain fax equipment and support the Level I Service Associate and team by performing all the required clerical activities within the project requirements.
- Working in this position the Service Associate II also will be required to book appointments, verify information and communicate with provider offices making requests for medical record information, maintain department tracking log, and Abstractor calendars.
- An understanding of the Medical record filing system within the department is required.
- Medical Records are stored in locked cabinets and retrieved as requested by staff and Auditors.
- Candidate will be responsible to assist abstractors by utilizing research within the company's claims and medical record systems and locating where members received care.
- A high degree of professional telephonic dialog is maintained at all times.
Requirements:
- Requires High School diploma and 6 months related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidates who have familiarity with medical terminology, customer service, call center background and prior HEDIS experience would have priority for this position.
- Candidates must have basic Excel skills and must have the ability to type 30-40 WPM.
- Needs reliable transportation.
- Microsoft Excel (creating, storing, filtering and manipulating data), Google Chrome Browser (Internal Software Use), and Internet (Research) experience.
- Must be computer literate.
- Able to work from home in a quiet, private environment in a secure space.
- Must be flexible with hours due to training schedule.
- Must be reliable to have no/very limited time off during the season.
- Experience: Customer Service, Outlook, TEAMS and Excel (Rename, maneuver through tabs, total numbers, count rows, viewing pivot tables, add rows/columns, copy/paste).
- Pursuit via Copy service vendors and working directly with providers over the phone to obtain Medical Records.
- Skills: customer service, good communication, phone and email etiquette, familiarity with outlook, diligent notation skills, Microsoft excel basic navigation, moderate typing skills, ability to multi task and follow through, and the ability to adapt and learn new tools.
